A Typical Day
Days at Felician Adult Day Center begin as early as 8:00 a.m., though clients are welcome to arrive later if needed. Transportation is provided by certified drivers on the Felician van or for those who arrive a little later, the family car. Morning activities may include some sort of exercise, art or music or a short video.
We provide “family-style” dining. This means the staff and clients dine together for lunch. We find that our clients eat better when staff join them in a dining experience. We provide a hot, nutritious lunch from noon to 1:00 and morning and afternoon snacks as part of the daily fee. Our talented food service creates a daily menu that provides our clients with balanced nutrition, and tasty, well-presented meals. Staff assistance assures a daily intake of needed nutrients. We ensure all client food preferences and weight fluctuations are addressed in the individual client plan of care.
Our activity program is designed to engage our clients in failure-free and stimulating activities to assist in maintaining their self-esteem, social skills, functioning level and enjoyment for as long as possible. We focus on the client’s strengths and use every interaction as an opportunity to help them feel good about themselves and their time spent with us.
Activities included in our weekly schedule include: art, music, reading and discussion groups, card and table games, puzzles, exercise, active games, storytelling, bingo, short videos, musical guests, volunteers interactions, birthday and special parties.
